World Conference and tour of New Zealand
It is with great regret that NZRDCBA announces the cancellation of the 2020 World Conference and Tour. Although the initial interest in the tour was considerable, the number of people prepared to commit to the Conference and Tour was not close enough to our target numbers to make it feasible to proceed. A combination of factors conspired to discourage participation. Most of our Australian colleagues suffer from a terrible drought and our thoughts are with them during this time of hardship. The Brexit shenanigans have undermined the confidence of the UK cattle breeders and the US vs China trade war has added to the uncertainty for the rest. Although the NZRDCBA Council considered going ahead with a less formal tour at a reduced cost, this option was rejected as it seemed likely that minimum target numbers for that might also not be reached. Of course intending participants will still be welcome at our studs if they decide to continue with their travel plans regardless. If such parties advise their intentions NZRDCBA will assist in matching visitors with breeders willing to host these guests.
NZRDCBA will, in the near future, consider rescheduling the event for a later date, possibly 2021.
Due to work commitments Karen Schumacher has resigned as president. Please direct questions and comments, including intentions to come to New Zealand in 2020 regardless of the cancellation, to the Acting President:
